ADHD + Coaching

WHAT IS ADHD?

ADHD (aka Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is an “invisible disability” in which the way that your brain is wired affects and interferes with your everyday actions and behaviors to function differently than someone who is neurotypical. With ADHD, our brain is simply not producing or utilizing enough dopamine — a neurotransmitter that helps us think, plan, execute, focus, and much more.

ADHD symptoms change over the lifespan due to the natural progression of events, such as social, environmental, and hormonal changes. Similar challenges seen in infancy can carry over into adulthood but present differently — for example, physical hyperactivity and restlessness is more common in children whereas that can be seen as overly talkative or interrupting in adults.

The benefit of becoming aware of the unique differences that each person living with ADHD experience is being able to individualize the solutions and treatment options for that person. This will also help identify how that person can utilize, appreciate and develop their strengths, talents, interests, passions and values to their advantage as opposed to focusing on fixing their shortcomings. In other words: we can learn to work with our strengths and not against our weaknesses.

So...
  WHAT IS ADHD Coaching?

An ADHD Life Coach is someone who understands the way an ADHD brain works and can address a client’s specific needs and barriers with ADHD. Our expertise allows us to help our clients identify their strengths and leverage them to better manage their ADHD by developing custom interventions needed to accomplish their goals.

ADHD is a combination of symptoms including inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity that show up in a multitude of ways and consequently affects a person’s ability to accomplish certain tasks and short-term or long-term goals without interference. ADHD is a completely manageable diagnosis with the correct tools and resources — like coaching, proper self-education, therapy, behavioral treatments, and possibly medication —depending upon what best suits you.

The coaching process allows us to use our advanced knowledge to support our clients’ individual journeys based on their unique challenges or obstacles they may be facing due to their ADHD. Together we will brainstorm and workshop strategies and action steps you can take with you in accomplishing your short-term and long-term goals. Your developing introspection and heightened sense of intuition will allow you to create valuable ways to best manage your symptoms and struggles in a sustainable way that will provide continued success, growth and positivity in all aspects of your life.
